Display US cities on a Map Using MaptiveThe US City Boundaries are part of Maptive’s, and provides the outline of approximately 30,000 cities and towns in the United States of America. With this tool you can display the borders of the cities or you can color them in based on your spreadsheet data.It is just as easy to set the colors of the US city boundaries based on your own data. This can help you create informative maps that let you see patterns in your spreadsheet data that you might otherwise easily miss. The city mapping software also makes an effective presentation tool.

City boundaries were fixed as of January 1 for data collection purposes whereas the actual census date is April 1. OFM substitutes state-certified special census counts in place of federal census counts in decennial census years.
You can take images of the map and add them to a PowerPoint presentation or show the live map in a meeting to quickly and effectively make your point. Create a US City Map using the following steps:. with Maptive. Click “Create My First Map”. Name Your Map then click “Continue”. Upload your Data or Start with a Blank Map. Go to the Boundary Tool and select US Cities.
Click “Add Boundary”Aggregate your data into City boundariesIf you chose to load your own spreadsheet data you can link it to the cities by selecting either “My Group Data” or “My Numerical Data” in the “Boundary Fill Type” drop down menu. After you have connected your data to the map, Maptive will automatically map your data and choose colors to fill in the cities where you have data. Maptive can also aggregate multiple lines of data into one city. This allows you to click on a city and see your aggregated data. Information like total sales in a city and number of locations in a city are some of the most popular data aggregations in Maptive.
However we can aggregate any numeric or text data in your Excel spreadsheet. For step by step instructions on how to use all the features of the boundary tool.
City, County, and State Boundaries
Boundaries.Municipalities is a multi-purpose statewide dataset of municipal boundaries for cartography and approximate boundary identification.
Boundaries.Municipalities boundaries are maintained by AGRC with the help of many state, county, and local entities. Changes and updates are through certification by the Lt. Governor’s Office sent in by City and County Recorders offices. All features are adjusted to the current Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB) points.
Data developed with coordinate geometry (COGO) from legal descriptions were used. When necessary the data was adjusted to conform to known physical features. This dataset does not represent exact legal boundaries, but, rather a set of boundaries used for the administrative purposes that conforms to logical & administrative rules (e.g. no two cities or redevelopment areas may cover the same geographic extent).
The native spatial reference for this dataset is UTM Zone 12N, NAD83 (0.01 meter coordinate precision).
There are no constraints or warranties with regard to the use of this dataset. Users are encouraged to attribute content to: State of Utah, SGID.
The municipal boundary dataset is maintained by AGRC in partnership with state and local government.

Updates to this dataset are published at a monthly interval or as needed.
Boundaries.MetroTownships is a multi-purpose statewide dataset of metro townships boundaries for cartography and approximate boundary identification.
Boundaries.MetroTownships boundaries represent unincorporated locations where the residents don't want to be part of an incorporated municipality but do want some say in how they are governed. They are maintained by AGRC with the help of many state, county, and local entities. Changes and updates are through certification by the Lt. Governor’s Office sent in by City and County Recorders offices. All features are adjusted to the current Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB) points.

In addition to the boundary of the state of Utah this dataset contains another larger boundary around the state that can be used for cartographic purposes to mask other data layers that extend past the boundary of the state. The native spatial reference for this dataset is UTM Zone 12N, NAD83 (0.01 meter coordinate precision).
